About Floating Wolf Quarterly

Floating Wolf Quarterly presents poetry in chapbook form designed for digital platforms. Each edition offers the work of an established poet paired with the work of an emerging poet.

Contributors include recipients of MacArthur, Guggenheim, and Wallace Stegner fellowships. Many emerging poets, after appearing in FWQ, have since published their first books.

Each chapbook is also available from Amazon as a well-formatted poetry ebook for Kindle. Sales of the ebooks fund the existence of FWQ.

FWQ was active from 2010 until 2014 and is currently in archive mode. Two previous designs used JavaScript to deliver a unique reader interface, but changes in browser rendering engines, device features, and even devices themselves meant that the design required regular attention and testing. As such, the current design reverts to web fundamentals: hand-crafted HTML and CSS.

This publication has always been a one-person shop: Christopher Louvet developed, designed, edited, and published it as an experiment in how to negotiate the design of poetry for the web and in ebooks.

FWQ holds first electronic rights for each chapbook it published; where individual poems previously appeared elsewhere, acknowledgement is given. Copyright for each chapbook reverts to the author upon publication.

Future publication of poems that have appeared in Floating Wolf Quarterly should acknowledge their initial appearance on this website.
